Mind Left Body

Session IPA First brewed in his honor on the birthday of CBC Founder and resident Deadhead Phil “Brewdaddy” Bannatyne, this beer has the bright hop character of a big IPA but the low-ABV of a more session-able pale ale. It’s brewed with his favorite hop variety, Centennial (as well as Falconer’s flight) throughout the boil and extensive dryhopping. [wpex more="Read more" less="Read less"] A big, punchy nose of grassy hop leads to notes of white grapefruit and pine needles. On the palate the hops dominate with citrus fruit and spicy fresh-cut grass (the legal kind), then finish with a long, aggressive bitterness with hints of pine and grapefruit pith. The Mind Left Body Jam was a thematic instrumental riff based on four descending chords played by the Dead over the course of many shows and many years, so called due to its similarity to Paul Kantner’s “Your Mind Has Left Your Body.” Kantner and Jefferson Airplane recorded the song in Nov/Dec '72, with Jerry Garcia and Mickey Hart in the studio. We look forward to your feedback after a few pints’ progression of Mind Left Body’s full-palate herbal-hop immersion. Pint $6 Pitcher $19 $33[/wpex]
