Soleil d’hiver

French Country Ale CBC’s brew crew is again taking inspiration from rustic French country ales, particularly the style known as Biere de Mars. Released in anticipation of the beginning of Spring (wishful thinking, we know,) Soleil d’hiver pours a beautiful shade of reddish orange, with a fluffy white head. [wpex more="Read more" less="Read less"] Our version is light in body with aromatic notes of orange blossom honey, herbal hops, and a clean, lightly spicy yeast character. On the palate flavors of bready malt and cereal grains combine with a touch of caramel leading to a dry and earthy but bright finish. Brewed with pale, Vienna and Munich malts and a good dose of German Spalter, Hallertau and Czech Saaz hops, this beer pairs well with a wide range of foods, and is just as great on its own.
